The CommunityBanker 8 F E A T U R E Team First Bank on the Green Team Williams Mullen Duaine Fitzgerald, Bobby Berkstresser, Steve Yeakel, and Bruce Patterson VACB Staff ACB held its 15th Annual Banker’s Cup Golf Tournament at Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville. This year’s tournament was again sponsored by Williams Mullen for the 15th consecutive year. The day was hot and sunny but that didn’t slow the players down as they headed out for a day of fun on the green! We had two raffle prize winners; Bob Watts with First Capital Bank and John Dane with the Community Bank- ers’ Bank Team each won gift certificates to the Spring Creek pro shop and a selection of VACB golf goodies. Select Bank in Lynchburg was the BFS Group contest winner. BFS Group will make a $500 donation to a charity of Select Bank’s choosing. Vining Sparks, an endorsed provider of ICBA and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta gra- ciously sponsored the beverage carts during the tournament, and Sentry Management provided boxed lunches. The weather played nicely as thunder and lightning that had been building in day’s heat, held off until the last team cleared the fairway! The tournament concluded at the clubhouse where we gathered for our post tournament meal provided by Continuity while the golf pro tallied the scores and determined the winners. Chairman John Caldwell was on hand to preside for the day, awarding prizes, assisting golfers and staff. The 15th Annual Bankers’ Cup tourna- ment was again a huge success and we thank all of our members for their support, both on and off the green!
