16th Annual VACB – Williams Mullen Bankers’ Cup Golf Tournament First Place Team (Team EVB Bank) Bruce Brockwell Phil Hager Bart Burgwyn Mark Zuskin with VACB President Steve Yeakel ACB held its 16th Annual Banker’s Cup Golf Tournament at Spring Creek Golf Club in Gordonsville. This year’s tournament was again sponsored by Williams Mullen. On tournament day, we were lucky to score one of the few sunny days in May, although it was questionable as we gathered for the shotgun start! As the teams left the clubhouse area, the clouds lifted and the sun broke through. It made for a steamy day on the green, but it didn’t hamper the enthusiasm of the teams as the tournament got underway. Players were well fed and hydrated during the tourna- ment. Vining Sparks, an endorsed provider of ICBA and the Federal Home Loan Bank of Atlanta graciously sponsored the beverage carts during the tourna- ment, and Sentry Management provided boxed lunches. The weather played nicely as the gathering storms headed toward Spring Creek, held off until the end of the tournament. The tournament concluded at the Spring Creek clubhouse where we gathered for our post tournament meal and prize drawing while the golf pro tallied the scores and determined the winners. Zach Low, representing the BSF Group was on hand to draw the winner of a $500 donation to the charity of the winner’s choice. Union Bank & Trust was the winner. VACB Chairman Mike Ewing was on hand to preside for the day, awarding prizes, assisting golfers and staff. The 16th Annual Bankers’ Cup tournament was a huge success once again and we thank all of our members for their support, both on and off the green!
